But What If You Tried…?

All the excuses we tell ourselves and give ourselves for not doing the things we want to do. Issues around time, money, talent, what people will say or think, what if it doesn’t work out…

But what if you tried it anyway?

What if you realized you were given talents and interests for a reason. To use them. To share them. To help others with them.

What if you shrugged your shoulders at doubt and fear and worry…and just tried it anyway?

Don’t waste your time on this earth in this lifetime not pursuing your dreams or goals because of fear and worry. It’s a disservice to the rest of us who need your talent and skill and it’s a disservice to yourself.

This new moon eclipse energy is powerful and you can channel that energy into something new for yourself. Taurus is a fixed earth sign, so this new endeavor might have real staying power for you. It’s time to try…

Tarot Card Reading of the Week – April 7, 2019

The card in  the past is the Knight of Swords upright. Knights are about action and movement. And the suit of swords is about our mind, our thoughts, and communication. This suit also corresponds to the air sign people – Libra, Gemini, Aquarius.  So there may be a new way of thinking about something in your life.  Or a new way of talking about something. How you frame the context of the conversation. It could involve an air sign person as well. But not always.

The card in the present energy is the Ten of Pentacles upright.  Financial security and stability. This is sometimes referred to as the “happy retirement” card. Because it reflects that state of finally reaching a place (with regard to your money) that you don’t have to worry any more.   And the freedom that comes with financial security as well.  Before you think, well, I’m not wealthy and I can’t retire until about 5 years after I die…maybe this card is suggesting that you start taking a closer look at your finances.  Or maybe, things aren’t as “bad” as you think they are.  Are you a billionaire? Maybe not. But do you have everything you really need. Which is a lot more than so many people.

The future card is Death reversed.  This card isn’t about dying – it’s about transformation. Very significant transformation. And this card reversed suggests that that isn’t happening. There’s a block or delay to transformation. This can be speaking to any area of your life, too. But since it’s a major arcana card, it’s likely talking about a pretty important area.  And it doesn’t mean change or transformation will never happen. It just means right now there’s some sort of block around this. So if there’s an area of your life that you’ve been hoping would transform…it may not happen as quickly or as soon as you’d like.

Astrologically speaking, we just had a New Moon in Aries on April 5.  Aries is the sign that starts the zodiac  (in western astrology) and it’s a fire sign. So anything Aries related means there’s a lot of energy involved.  An ideal time to start something new or plant seeds you’d like to see grow and develop into something new.  But the day you plant the seed is not the day you harvest the fruit. So give it some time.

Cosmic Correspondence – New Moon, Jupiter Shifts Signs…

There’s so much going on in November 2018.  I’ll briefly touch on some things that are important, but I want my focus to be on the New Moon and on Jupiter.

Uranus will retrograde back into Aries until March 2019.  Of course, it all depends on where Aries is in your chart. If you are a Libra sun for example, then Aries is in your seventh house of partnerships and relationships. So you’ve probably been going through some significant change.  And they were probably sudden and unexpected.  Uranus will go back into Taurus from March 2019 until 2025.  And then the focus will be on value and our relationship with money and luxury.

The moon nodes are also shifting from Leo/Aquarius to Cancer/Capricorn.  Moon nodes are location points on the moon – north and south. And they shift every 18 months. They’re about karma and karmic lessons and lessons from past lives.  If you’re a Cancer or Cap, the next 18 months may feel fated, or have some strong karmic lessons for you.

But what I want to talk about is the new moon in Scorpio on November 7, 2018. New moons are all about new beginnings. An ideal time to set forth an intention and to allow the universe to help manifest it into reality.  And Scorpio is the most intense sign of the zodiac. So if it’s something you feel very strongly about or if you want to begin something that is, well…intense, this is a great time to do it.

This new moon is also in a nice aspect/placement to Neptune and Pluto.  The Neptune aspect will make the new moon (and the few days before and after the lunation) have a magical, day dreamy quality to it.  Like a fantasy.  No complaints there.  Pluto is hanging around to help add a little stability to all of this.

And Jupiter is also shifting signs.  Jupiter has been in Scorpio for the past 13 months and he will move on to Sagittarius for the next 13 months.  Jupiter isn’t at ease in Scorpio.   My guess is Scorpio is just too intense for Jupiter.   But Jupiter rules Sagittarius. So it’s like visiting your aunt and uncle you see once every 5 years somewhere across the country and you can’t sit on the furniture or put the glass on the table unless there’s a coaster (because it will leave a mark….heaven help us all). And going home to your own parent’s house. Or, your own house. Where you can go in the fridge and eat whatever you want and put your feet on the furniture.

Jupiter is a giver. The benefic of the skies.  Where Jupiter is,  he brings gifts, luck, expansion and growth.  Sagittarius people should be loving the next 13 months.  Jupiter usually transits a sign a year or so after Saturn goes through.  So it’s like the universe tests you with Saturn and then blesses you for your putting up with it with Jupiter.  It all evens itself out.  The universe has an amazing way of keeping things in balance.

We’re in the middle of a Venus retrograde. She will go direct around November 16. But just as she moves forward, Mercury will start to retrograde.  The one thing these two retrogrades have in common (other than they are relatively quick transits, because they are inner planets) it’s that they can bring exes back into our lives. People returning.  So be mindful of that. I’m not saying it’s good or bad exactly…just be mindful of it.  And  if nothing else, just wait until these two retrogrades are over with. See if the ex (or person) remains. If they do, the relationship (or friendship or partnership) may have some longevity to it.

Having said that, we kick off 2019 with eclipses.  Starting a new year with things being eclipsed out.  It will be interesting to see how that year progresses. And if you think about it, maybe that’s not a horrible way to start a new year.  To start it getting rid of the things that no longer serve us or help us on our soul evolution.   Eclipses are pretty powerful, though.  Like a full moon (also an ideal time for endings and closure) on steroids.

Let’s just welcome in this New Moon in Scorpio and Jupiter going home for 13 months.  Those two things will benefit all of us in some way in our lives.  It’s time to be open to receive blessings and new beginnings…

Cosmic Correspondence – Full Moon Blue Moon Lunar Eclipse in Leo, New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aquarius

On January 31, there will be a full moon in the sign of Leo. It’s the second full moon of the month – hence, a blue moon. The first was on January 1.  It’s also a lunar eclipse.  So a lot of energy is packed with this lunation. Especially given that it’s in a fire sign.

Full moons represent the completion of a cycle. Something being “finished” or “done.” Endings. They are generally viewed as ideal times to give thanks for receiving gifts as well as releasing what doesn’t serve you.

February 2018 won’t have any full moons.  But it will see a new moon solar eclipse in the sign of Aquarius.  New moons are ideal times for new beginnings.  To start something or begin.  Aquarius is an innovative sign.  A sign about “new ways of doing things.”   They are also community oriented.  As an air sign, it’s a communicative intellectual energy as well.

So the next few weeks are going to full of a lot of shifting energy, that’s for certain.  What you want to release, release. And what you want to begin, begin.  All the planets are moving direct until March 8.  Good energy to use to DO and CREATE and BEGIN.  Or to at least be open to the new beginnings the universe may have in store for you…

Cosmic Correspondence – Three Moons and All Planets Direct

January 2018 is starting off with a lot of energy. Lunar energy, specifically.  On January 1, there will be a full moon at 11 degrees of Cancer.  We have the beginning of a new year. And with this full moon, the end of  a cycle. That dynamic coupled with the polarity between Cancer (emotional, sensitive, family oriented)  and Capricorn (work horse, responsible, grounded),  January 1 may feel a little…off.  But as with all things – it will pass.  It’s a good day to give thanks for the completion of a cycle. A lunar cycle as well as a year that has just passed. And then be open to the new year ahead.

Then on January 2, Uranus will go direct.  This will mark a period of about 8 weeks or so when all planets are direct. From January 2 until March 8, nothing will be retrograde. Whatever you have wanted to begin, or look into…this is the green light from the universe.  New Year’s Resolutions…you won’t have the stars to blame for not following through.   We get this period of a few weeks of everything moving direct every year. It’s not a time to gloss over. Take advantage of that energy moving you forward.

There’s a new moon in the middle of the month, and it is also involving Uranus and Mars. Surprising events may take place. New moons are also a time to start things – to begin. So it may be just the surprise you need to encourage you to move something forward.

The month is bookended by another full moon. This one is at 11 degrees of Leo.  And it’s a lunar eclipse.  Eclipses end things, more so than with an ordinary full moon.  Leo is a different energy than Cancer.  A lot more dynamic and rushing in to get things done. It’s as if the first month of this new year is almost forcing us to take a look at what we need to let go of in order to really move forward. And if we do it on our own, it will be a lot easier than if we wait for the universe to do it for us. So be sure to use that first full moon to release and let go. The full moon in Leo may be a little more aggressive with things.

The start of a new year or a new lunar cycle (with a new moon) is an ideal time to work on a manifestation board.  You cut out words or images that you want for yourself that year or in the lunar period.  The idea is that you put it  in a place that you will see every day and just by looking at the pictures and the words, the ideas get put in your head. The same way advertising in magazines or billboards or TV ads work.  The manifestation board can focus on one specific area (let’s say money or career) or everything and anything you want for yourself in any area.  After the year has passed or the lunar cycle, look back at the board and see how many of those things actually came into you life. You may be surprised.

I hope this new year is full of blessings and miracles for all of us.  And the cosmic push to move forward with our lives.

Addition to Stellium in Scorpio….

I forgot to mention this in my other post about the new moon…Jupiter is also in the sign of Scorpio right now. His transit will last until November 2018.  Jupiter is the planet of expansion and growth, good luck and good fortune and gifts. Any area (sign or placement) Jupiter is in, expect that area to grow.

Having now said that, you can see why the area of relationship may be a focus for this new moon. Jupiter expands and brings growth and luck to something, and it’s in the sign of Scorpio right now. Along with Venus.  And the sun and the moon.

Truly, the focal point will be our relationships with others.  Romantic or otherwise.

New Moon in Scorpio, Stellium in Scorpio – Intensity all around

On November 18, 2017 there will be a new moon in the super intense water sign of Scorpio.   New moons are generally viewed as times to start new things. They signify fresh beginnings.  Scorpio is (hands down) the most intense sign of the zodiac.  In virtually everything they do, Scorpio people have a plan and a directive. The idea of “let’s just see what happens, let’s just see where this goes,” is not anything a Scorpio would say.

Highly intuitive, secretive, seductive, not afraid of all things dark and mysterious.   They are about depth,  and getting to what is real. They are the best person to have in your corner when you need them. The worst person you wish you never knew if you slight them or make them angry.

This new moon isn’t the only activity taking place in Scorpio. We also have the sun in Scorpio right now, as well as Venus. When you have a lot of planets in one house of a chart or in one sign, it’s considered a stellium.  Given that we have all this energy in Scorpio, today (as well as a few days before and after) are probably going to be a bit intense. At least in one area of your life.  More so if you are a Scorpio or a water sign or have a lot of Scorpio or water in your chart. Fixed signs may also be affected more (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius).

One area that you  may feel this most is in the area of relationship.  Because the sun, the moon and Venus (planet of relationships and love and luxury) are there. If you want new love in your life, today may be a good time to do some manifestation work. Visualize the ideal person, and feel how wonderful they make you feel.  Whatever that means for you: safety, security, passion, friendship, companionship, fun and laughter…the list can go on and on.  If you are already in a committed relationship, this is a good time to hit the “reset” button.  If a certain aspect or area of your relationship has gone a little stale, use this energy to infuse some momentum.

I pulled a tarot card for the energy of this new moon and The High Priestess presented.   She’s my one of my favorite cards in the deck. She is an oracle – people seek her for her insight, her wisdom, her knowledge. She’s intuitive, and divinely guided.  She can also be secretive and mysterious.  This card presented upright, which is good.  Reversed, it can suggest something hidden or a secret being kept.

As a Scorpio rising, I’m looking forward to the energy of this new moon, and the doors that are soon going to open because of it.

Cosmic Correspondence – Cancer Energy and Summer Solstice

The summer solstice is today. The longest  day of the year and the official start of summer (in the northern hemisphere).   And lots of Cancer energy.  The sun is now in Cancer. A sensitive water sign, family focused and gentle.   There will be a new moon in Cancer on June 24.   New moons are ideal times to start new things. They start a new moon cycle, after all.   And  just like each sign carries its own specific focus and energy, it’s best to work with this energy.  Since Cancer is family focused, it’s a good time to turn a new page with your family life. However that resonates for you – your marriage, your literal house/living space, your children, your significant family relationships.  Make a commitment to do something with the kids once a week that’s special…that’s different.  Maybe something “active” and exercise oriented.  Or something as simple as making a phone call to a favorite relative once a week.

I personally have a new moon and a full moon ritual. For new moons, I write down an area or two I want to focus on for the new moon cycle. I put the piece of paper under a candle and light some incense.  I let the candle (it’s a short taper candle) and the incense burn out completely.  And I spend a few moments in quiet focused on my new moon aspiration.  Asking for my spirit guides and angels to help me and guide me.

The types of rituals you can come up with are endless.  You could collect all the random change you find during a new moon cycle (so from new moon to full moon)  and then use it toward buying somebody a coffee treat. Or, if your’e an avid Amazon shopper, you can donate to charities with AmazonSmile.   It costs you nothing, and a portion of whatever you spend will go toward the charity of your choice. You could switch it up every month to correspond to the  sign the sun is in. An earth sign…donate to a nature focused charity. A fire sign…donate to an athletic or exercise focused charity.  An air sign…anything intellectual and centered around teaching and learning.  A water sign…family/children charities.

Find your own ritual to connect you with the moon and sun energies.  It’s a wonderful way to work in sync with moon cycles and sun cycles.  And to add a little magic to your life.
