Tarot Reading of the Week – March 26, 2018

The first card is The Emperor.  A major arcana card. This could be an Aries male since this is the major arcana card that corresponds to Aries.  But not necessarily. An emperor outranks a king.  This is a very commanding, in control energy. He’s not somebody you mess with or push boundaries with.  He commands respect and he gets it.

The next card is the Queen of Cups reversed. She can be a water sign (Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio) woman over 35, but not necessarily.  When the water signs present reversed, they can be manipulative. Especially when it comes to emotions.  She can also just be a woman who isn’t in control fo her emotions. Not in an angry way – more of a crying, whining sort of way.  In any case, be mindful of emotional manipulation.  Perhaps coming from or around a woman.

The last card is the Seven of Swords upright. You’re on top of this…you got this.  A bit of a struggle, but you’re standing your ground.  So if something in your life feels a little daunting or exhausting (maybe dealing with that emotional manipulation around you), don’t worry – you can handle it.  And as with all energy, good or bad, it’s temporary and will shift.

The Spring Equinox

The spring equinox is upon us (in the northern hemisphere). March 20, 2018, we have the spring equinox  and the Sun entering Aries. Which also brings the astrological new year.

This is an ideal time set forth intentions. I always say that the universe gives us lots of opportunities to start anew. Not just with each new day, but the beginning of every week, of every month, with each full and/or new moon. And when there is an equinox.  If there are ideas you thought to put into motion on January 1, but never got around to doing or truly fulfilling, this is a good time to do it.  The season changes, the amount of light and dark changes and if you can herald that energy to change something within yourself or for yourself, all the better.

I welcome the shift in energy.  We move from the watery, sensitive, emotional sign of Pisces to the dynamic, cardinal fire sign of Aries.  It’s about action and doing things.  Pushing forward.  And doing so fearlessly.  So don’t be afraid to start something new or to change your perspective on something.  Sometimes, just changing one thing in a small way can lead to significant, positive change.

Tarot Reading of the Week – March 18, 2018

The card in the recent past, or the energy we are leaving is the Two of Cups reversed. A lack of union.  This can represent the breakup of a relationship or just this energy of not coming together in some way.  A block or delay to love, perhaps.

The card in the present energy is the Queen of Wands reversed. She can be a fire sign female (Sagittarius, Aries, Leo) over 35. Reversed, as she is here, she’s…..not a nice woman. Difficult. Demanding. Moody. Prone to angry outbursts.  If this isn’t a  person, it can just be an energy around you.  Difficult energy, lots of tension and anger.  It’s the “walking on egg shells” energy.

The card in the future is The Star. It’s a major arcana card, so it speaks louder than the other cards. This is a card of blessings. It is the “wish fulfillment” card of the major arcana (the Nine of Cups is the minor arcana wish fulfillment card).  It’s about balance and peace and…wishes coming true.

So we may be coming into the week off the heels of a failed or tense relationship.  But the  future seems to hold a wish fulfilled.  Just be mindful of the tension that may present at some point this week as well.

We’re about to enter the sign of Aries, astrologically speaking. Any time we’re at the end of a sign (or a particular planet’s energy) and about to enter another, there can be some tension.   Just the shift in energy. So in this case, it’s moving from the sensitive, watery sign of Pisces into the dynamic, motivated fire sign of Aries. We may all feel that shift in some are of our lives.

Tarot Reading of the Week – March 4, 2018

In the past position we have The Hermit reversed.  So an energy we are leaving or have already left is one of being a little isolated. Perhaps a bit of a recluse.  Upright, this card is about seeking solitude to gain wisdom and insight. It’s about learning and studying, but with a hint of withdrawing to gain more knowledge. Reversed, this card is about being a little too isolated.

The card in the present position is the Two of Wands reversed.  Perhaps not planning ahead very well. Or having over-looked something.  Or some necessary details. This may have been due to impatience.  So it’s almost like there was a sense of excitement and a real desire and push to move forward. But in the process of all of that, some important details and elements were left out.

The card in the position of the future is the Queen of Pentacles upright. She can be an earth sign female (Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn) over 35. But she doesn’t have to be.  It doesn’t even have to be an actual person, just the energy of the card.  So this is about having your money in order. She’s a woman who is good with her resources and good with making everything run smoothly.  Perhaps a homemaker, or somebody with a family – but she’s able to juggle her family and running the household.  And it’s all done with a nurturing and caring attitude. So she’s not ruthless about it. She’s just very organized and practical and money and time savvy.  So a good energy to end the week with.

Perhaps we learn through our lack of planning or impatience with the Two of Wands reversed how to become better organized and structured.  Or, a woman (or person) comes to our aid who is really skilled at organization and planning (and even money) and she helps us make it all work.

Cosmic Correspondence – Full Moon Blue Moon Lunar Eclipse in Leo, New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aquarius

On January 31, there will be a full moon in the sign of Leo. It’s the second full moon of the month – hence, a blue moon. The first was on January 1.  It’s also a lunar eclipse.  So a lot of energy is packed with this lunation. Especially given that it’s in a fire sign.

Full moons represent the completion of a cycle. Something being “finished” or “done.” Endings. They are generally viewed as ideal times to give thanks for receiving gifts as well as releasing what doesn’t serve you.

February 2018 won’t have any full moons.  But it will see a new moon solar eclipse in the sign of Aquarius.  New moons are ideal times for new beginnings.  To start something or begin.  Aquarius is an innovative sign.  A sign about “new ways of doing things.”   They are also community oriented.  As an air sign, it’s a communicative intellectual energy as well.

So the next few weeks are going to full of a lot of shifting energy, that’s for certain.  What you want to release, release. And what you want to begin, begin.  All the planets are moving direct until March 8.  Good energy to use to DO and CREATE and BEGIN.  Or to at least be open to the new beginnings the universe may have in store for you…

Cosmic Correspondence: Saturn Transiting Capricorn, Mercury Stations Direct, Winter Solstice

Saturn left Sagittarius and just started his two and a half year (approximately) transit through Capricorn.  A shift for everybody, whether or not you are a Capricorn or have a lot of Capricorn in your chart.   Saturn rules Capricorn, so he’s at home there. But that doesn’t mean he’s any less of a task master. We can all expect life lessons and attention being brought to areas of our lives that we may have had in the dark or up on a shelf.  A definite shift in the energy. Saturn is an outer planet and he travels slowly…and his presence in a particular sign is noticeable.

The sun also started it’s transit through Capricorn as well.  That’s a lot of heavy, earth energy.  Stable and grounded, yes. But also…heavy.  In a way, it comes at the perfect time every year (as if the universe “knows”) because it’s a good time to set out some practical goals for ourselves. We tend to do this around this time of the year as one year ends and another is about to begin. And it’s not bad energy to work with for goal setting. Capricorn can be a very disciplined, responsible, goal-oriented energy to work with.  Call them resolutions or goals or focus points…but it’s a good time to spend some time in quiet and really figure out what we don’t want to carry over into 2018 and what we want to start anew.

And tomorrow Mercury stations direct.  So things should start to flow. Or at least feel like they’re flowing.  Communication should be better in a very general, broad sense.  There’s a “shadow period” where things still aren’t 100% moving forward and that will linger until the first few days or week of January. But things should start to feel better for all of us more and more every day.

And the winter solstice is today as well.  The shortest day of the year – the day with the least amount of sunlight in the Northern Hemisphere.  And as the saying goes, “as the days lengthen, the cold strengthens.”  So colder days…perhaps. But longer days as well.  In my mind, a day to celebrate because with every passing day, there’s more sunlight to enjoy.

Starting January 2, 2018 up until about March 8, 2018, all the planets will be going direct. So it’s a wonderful time to GO. To DO. To CREATE and to MAKE and to START.  We get a few weeks of this every year. The universe giving us all a big shove telling us to get on with it.  Use the Capricorn energy to plan and to set some goals for yourself…and then use those two months to really get things moving.

Addition to Stellium in Scorpio….

I forgot to mention this in my other post about the new moon…Jupiter is also in the sign of Scorpio right now. His transit will last until November 2018.  Jupiter is the planet of expansion and growth, good luck and good fortune and gifts. Any area (sign or placement) Jupiter is in, expect that area to grow.

Having now said that, you can see why the area of relationship may be a focus for this new moon. Jupiter expands and brings growth and luck to something, and it’s in the sign of Scorpio right now. Along with Venus.  And the sun and the moon.

Truly, the focal point will be our relationships with others.  Romantic or otherwise.

New Moon in Scorpio, Stellium in Scorpio – Intensity all around

On November 18, 2017 there will be a new moon in the super intense water sign of Scorpio.   New moons are generally viewed as times to start new things. They signify fresh beginnings.  Scorpio is (hands down) the most intense sign of the zodiac.  In virtually everything they do, Scorpio people have a plan and a directive. The idea of “let’s just see what happens, let’s just see where this goes,” is not anything a Scorpio would say.

Highly intuitive, secretive, seductive, not afraid of all things dark and mysterious.   They are about depth,  and getting to what is real. They are the best person to have in your corner when you need them. The worst person you wish you never knew if you slight them or make them angry.

This new moon isn’t the only activity taking place in Scorpio. We also have the sun in Scorpio right now, as well as Venus. When you have a lot of planets in one house of a chart or in one sign, it’s considered a stellium.  Given that we have all this energy in Scorpio, today (as well as a few days before and after) are probably going to be a bit intense. At least in one area of your life.  More so if you are a Scorpio or a water sign or have a lot of Scorpio or water in your chart. Fixed signs may also be affected more (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius).

One area that you  may feel this most is in the area of relationship.  Because the sun, the moon and Venus (planet of relationships and love and luxury) are there. If you want new love in your life, today may be a good time to do some manifestation work. Visualize the ideal person, and feel how wonderful they make you feel.  Whatever that means for you: safety, security, passion, friendship, companionship, fun and laughter…the list can go on and on.  If you are already in a committed relationship, this is a good time to hit the “reset” button.  If a certain aspect or area of your relationship has gone a little stale, use this energy to infuse some momentum.

I pulled a tarot card for the energy of this new moon and The High Priestess presented.   She’s my one of my favorite cards in the deck. She is an oracle – people seek her for her insight, her wisdom, her knowledge. She’s intuitive, and divinely guided.  She can also be secretive and mysterious.  This card presented upright, which is good.  Reversed, it can suggest something hidden or a secret being kept.

As a Scorpio rising, I’m looking forward to the energy of this new moon, and the doors that are soon going to open because of it.

Cosmic Correspondence – New Moon in Libra, Mercury in Scorpio, Venus in Libra

What an interesting mix of energy.  The charm and grace of Libra and the depth and intensity of Scorpio.   There’s a New Moon in Libra on October 19.  I like new moons – probably more than full moons, even if we can’t “see” them in the sky the same way. I like new beginnings. I like the fact that every month the universe gives us this opportunity to focus on some area of our lives and we get a chance to re-set.   With the new moon (new starts, beginnings, time to set an intention), in the partnership oriented sign of Libra, it’s a good time to focus on your relationships. Romantic relationships, but any kind of relationship.   It’s also a good time to start a new relationship.  This new moon opposes Uranus in Aries. So there’s this element of risk. Or something unpredictable. That’s not always a bad thing, so try to welcome anything that’s a little out of your comfort zone.

Mercury is going into Scorpio.  Jupiter went into Scorpio on October 10/11.  With Mercury here, we can expect conversations to turn deep. And possibly to things that are hidden. That could be communication coming out about yourself that was hidden, or other people.   It’s conversation we don’t normally hear about.  Deep, dark secrets, secret desires, hidden parts of ourselves.

Venus is in Libra and this is all about love.  And grace and beauty and fairness and balance. Venus rules Libra so she’s at home here.  And it really does suggest love and romance.  Especially on October 19, with the new moon in Libra.

New moons are a good time to start things as I mentioned above.  So if you’re hoping for a new relationship, put that wish and intention out there for the universe to bring somebody to you. If you’re already in a relationship but it needs a refresh, October 19 is a good time to take steps to bring in that new energy.  It’s an ideal time for love and romance and balance.

Cosmic Correspondence – Full Moon in Capricorn

There’s a Full Moon at 17 degrees of Capricorn today.  And the word intense doesn’t do it justice.  It’s not only intense because of the opposing energies of Capricorn and Cancer (where the Sun is currently), but also because the moon and Pluto are opposite the sun and Mars.  This will likely affect one or some relationships in your life. Or possibly your environment.

Issues of control, manipulation, physical aggression, intimidation may present with this particular configuration.   Sun opposing Pluto can bring destruction or the break-down of something.  Pluto is all about death and rebirth.  So something falling away to rebuild. It reminds me of The Tower card in tarot.

Mars opposing Pluto can also suggest issues around aggression.  Given that Mars is about aggression, war, willpower, competition, those themes may present in your life in some way within the next few days.

The energy of a full or new moon can be felt 2-3 days before and after it is exact. So this energy may be felt for a few more days.  And it’s not suggesting you will be the victim of violence or aggression…but you may feel this energy around you.  An energy of tension. An energy of a ticking time bomb with a particular person or within a relationship.

Cancer is trying to ease this tension as best it can. But there’s a lot to deal with.  Sensitive and emotional, our reactions may tend toward bouts of crying.

This Full Moon is going to affect Capricorn people the most. If you have Capricorn as your sun sign, moon sign or rising/ascendant sign….be mindful of this energy.  The other earth signs (Virgo and Taurus) could also feel this a bit as well.  Capricorn people are also advised to pay attention to this energy and what it reveals for you because Saturn will transit your sign starting this December (2017) and will stay with you for about two and a half years.  A time of often massive shift and change, responsibility, restriction and growing up.  It’s not fun when you’re going through it, but if you learn the lessons Saturn is trying to teach you, you will emerge from it more strong and wise than you thought possible.

Full Moons are a time of completion. And also a time to let go of what no longer serves you.  Give thanks for what has come to fruition during this past moon cycle, and don’t be afraid to let go of what isn’t serving you in your life. Write down what you’d like removed from your life or what you’d like to be released from, and speak it aloud outside. Ask the universe (your guides, angels, God…) to help you let go and be released from the things you ask. Ask for peaceful transition and ask for the strength you need during the shift you’re about to experience. Then give thanks for already receiving it.  Once you ask, the wheels are set in motion, and it will be given.  Expect it and it will be yours.
