Venus in Aries…HOT!

Well….if you’ve been waiting for things to pick up in your life where romance is concerned, Venus in Aries might be the answer. And it doesn’t matter if you’re single or with someone. This transit could usher in excitement.

If “the chase” usually annoys you…you might find it exciting. And of things have been a little “usual” in other areas (ahem…), that could get more exciting, too.

Keep in mind that Venus is about love and romance. But she’s also about money. And expensive brings. The tendency to shop a lot and overspend and spend on luxury items can easily get out of control.

Mercury is also in shadow. You may be feeling that now, too. Tech things breaking, travel hassles, communication problems. Mercury will go retrograde in Gemini in a few days. More on that later.

Tarot Card Reading of the Week November 17, 2019 and Planet Post Up

The card in the past energy is the Queen of Swords upright. She can be an air sign female – Gemini, Libra or Aquarius. But it doesn’t have to be an actual person. It can just be this energy…energy of clear communication.  Saying what you mean and meaning what you say.

The present energy is The Moon reversed.  Something that was once hidden is coming to light.  A secret perhaps. Also letting go of fear and anxiety. This is a good card to get reversed.

The future energy is the Three of Cups upright.  Celebration and party. Enjoying good times out with friends and family.  The holiday season is upon us so this will likely be a somewhat common theme for a lot of us. Thanksgiving, office parties, on and on.

Mercury goes direct on Wednesday. An end to communication problems, travel delays,  things breaking and not working, tech issues, difficulties and blockages in general.  Go ahead and buy those expensive things and sign those important documents.  Welcome in this fresh energy.

Mars also goes into Scorpio. A placement he is comfortable with.  A good time to move things forward as well.

And Venus and Jupiter have their conjunction on November 24. Some consider this the most romantic day of the year.  But let’s go ahead and call it a good weekend. If romance isn’t in the cards for you, it’s a weekend of good luck and good energy.  Feeling good and feeling positive.  Enjoy it.

Tarot Card Reading of the Week – October 27, 2019

The card in the past energy is the Eight of Swords reversed. No longer feeling trapped. No longer feeling blind and bound by a situation. Or a person.  This is a card you want to get reversed. And better still that this stuck/unstuck energy is energy we are leaving behind.

The present energy is Queen of Pentacles upright. She can be an earth sign female – Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn. But she doesn’t have to be. This is a person (or an energy) that is responsible and stable.  Guided by logic and reason and practicality.  She’s good with money, good with the home.  Again, if this isn’t a person in your life, it may just be an energy you are working with or that is around you.

The card in the future energy is Strength reversed.  Don’t forget about your own inner power as the week progresses.   We all find ourselves in this place from time to time in our lives. Feeling weak or defeated.  Perhaps even physically weak or ill.  We all possess an inner power within us that is far strong than we realize.  It’s okay to question your capability about or around something – just don’t stay there.

A new moon in Scorpio on October 27 should help to propel us into a new week. New moons are a wonderful time for new beginnings.  We just need to try to wrap up any loose ends because Mercury goes retrograde until November 20 or so.  That can bring communication issues, travel delays, technical and mechanical difficulties and the “return” of something. Tarot Card Reading of the Week – May 5, 2019

The card in the past position is the Eight of Wands reverse. This can indicate a lack of communication or a lack of action. A lack of movement.  A good card to get in this position because it’s energy we’re leaving. If something has been feeling stagnant or like you can’t get through to somebody…it’s about to come to an end.

The card in the present position is the Knave of Pentacles – also known as the Page of Pentacles. Pages can be children under the age of 10-12 or people who act like children.  We all know people who act like children.  But they’re also messengers. And the suit of pentacles is about money and material goods. So you could be receiving some good news about money or finances.   It may come from or somehow be related to an earth sign person as well (Virgo, Capricorn or Taurus) since this suit also corresponds to the earth sign people.

The future card is the Queen of Cups upright. She’s a very emotionally stable and mature water sign woman – Cancer, Pisces, Scorpio. She doesn’t have to be a water sign person. But she’s very nurturing woman and very sensitive and kind. Gentle.  If this isn’t an actual person in your life, you could be taking on this quality yourself. Or, it could just be a general energy around you.  A little more kindness and emotional peace.  Nothing bad about that.

There’s a new moon in Taurus on May 5 – so a great time for new beginnings.  Specifically centered around what you value. Taurus is ruled by Venus and Venus here (unlike Libra, which she also rules) is is about money and luxury.   A good time to start something new within your finances or with your money.  Keep in mind that Uranus is also transiting Taurus for the next seven years. So there may be some surprises in this area of life for all of us in some way.

Tarot Card Reading of the Week + Oracle Card – December 30, 2018

Because this is a card reading for the week that flows into the next calendar year, this reading and these energies can carry over throughout the year. Think of it as a preview of what the year ahead holds.

The energy we are leaving (the past week, the past year) is the Knight of Pentacles reversed. This can be an earth sign person in their twenties or thirties (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn). Knights are about movement and action, but this knight is the slowest moving knight of the deck. He can also be about money or material goods. Tangible goods. Reversed, he may be moving a little faster than usual. Because upright, he’s plodding along.  Which isn’t necessarily bad if it concerns money or your property, right? You want to be methodical and to be thorough about decisions and actions.  But reversed, he’s moving on something. Which is good.

The present energy is the Two of Cups upright. A beautiful card of love and relationships and union. It doesn’t have to be romantic in nature – it can just as easily be a partnership around business or a deepening of a friendship or becoming closer with a family member.  But it’s coming together. It’s love. It’s union.  Beautiful.

The future card is the Nine of Pentacles upright. Which is kind of the opposite of the Two of Cups in a way. This is the “happy single person” card. It shows a woman dressed in a beautiful gown, surrounded by nine pentacles with a bird on her shoulder. I love that this card shows a woman with her pet critter with her.  Pentacles generally refer to money and tangible goods (our stuff).  She’s doing quite well financially and she’s happy. She’s also by herself.  So this can indicate making peace with being single if that is a dynamic in your life. It can indicate success with a private business or a solo venture. j

The oracle card is Here and Now.  It’s about being present in the moment.  Not getting stuck in the past and not being super concerned about the future, but about being content and at peace with this moment, right now. With what you have, right now.  Finding happiness with where you are now. We tend to be very focused on the future at the beginning of a new year. What the next year will hold, the things we’d like to manifest or create, what we’d like to accomplish. But there’s something to be said with just being content with right now.  With all that you have and all that you have already accomplished.

Astrologically speaking, towards the end of this week, all the planets will be direct and they will stay direct for about two months.  There’s no excuse to NOT start that new thing or go after that new goal now. Not just because of a date on the calendar, but also because the universe is giving us all a cosmic push to go after what we want.  It’s about forward moment and forward momentum.  Take advantage of it.   There’s always a period of about 6-8 weeks every (calendar) year where all the planets are direct.  Those weeks/months are the time to GO. And to DO.  It’s not about planning and figuring out and calculating. It’s about doing.  Use this energy – it’s truly a gift from the universe.

Tarot Card Reading of the Week – November 11, 2018

The card in the past position is the Four of Swords reversed. Not wanting to go within, not wanting to do the hard “inner work.”   Either not having the time, or just not wanting to.  It can also sometimes indicate being distracted, and it’s the distraction that’s preventing you from going within.

The card in the present position is the Queen of Swords upright.  She can be an air sign adult woman – Libra, Gemini, Aquarius. But she doesn’t have to be. This is a woman (or an energy) of being very exact with communication. Very effective with the words you use and why you choose them. This is a woman who means what she says and says what she means. She’s sometimes called the Ice Queen because she can seem a little…cold. It’s not so much that she’s cold as that she doesn’t have time for BS and having her time wasted.

The future card is the Five of Swords reversed. This can indicate a need to forget and forgive. An move on.  Something was won, at the loss of something else…and now it’s time to move on.

These are all swords cards. The suit of swords corresponds to the mind, thinking, intellect, communication. So these dynamics may be playing a role in your life the upcoming week. Tarot Card Reading of the Week – October 28, 2018

All three cards are major arcana cards. So this could be an intense week ahead.  Intense doesn’t have to be bad or hard or difficult. It could just be that some pretty interesting or exciting or life-altering events take place.

The card in the past position (the energy we are leaving) is The Star upright.  This is the “wish fulfillment” card of the major arcana.  It represents a wish being fulfilled. Or just a feeling of being blessed. Or, actually BEING blessed. That feeling you have when things in your life and within yourself seem to flow with ease.

The card in the present position is The Magician upright.  One of my favorite cards (so is the next one after this). This is a card of manifestation. It’s a card of the power to create.  You have all the tools you need to create the thing or the event that you want.  They’re all right there in front of you. This is card of realizing that, and using them to manifest your desire into reality.  And it may just have this “magical” feeling to it.  Like when you think about wanting something or, “it’d be nice if I could find a parking space on the first floor of the parking garage instead of the seventh….” And it happens.  Get ready for some magic to come into your life – if it isn’t there already.

The future card is The High Priestess upright. She’s an oracle, a source of wisdom and knowledge. People seek her out for her guidance and insight.  So this can indicate an actual person that you go to (or who simply presents in your life…like magic, as if you manifested them) for some advice. And she (or they, it doesn’t have to be a female) lead you to the exact place and/or decision you need.  It can also be you. YOU are becoming this person.  Maybe you’ve been trying to work with your own intuition or you’ve been spending more time practicing meditation and you start to “see” (no pun intended) the results of your efforts.  Or maybe you just have an interesting experience with the other side.

This is a time of year when “the veil is thinning.” Meaning, the veil between this world and the spirit world.  The few weeks ahead of Halloween (also called Samhain). It is not uncommon for people to experience or have ghost stories or to experience these unexplainable experiences with their loved ones who have passed over. Not in a scary way. Sometimes, the experiences can be funny.  Most often, they’re just reassuring.  That card could indicate that there will be an experience with an ancestor or with a guide or angel. And maybe that’s exactly what you need to validate to yourself that your intuitive gifts are real and that you have the power to manifest them.

Cosmic Correspondence – Saturn Direct

Saturn has been retrograde since the middle of April. He stations (a fancy astrology term for “goes”) direct on September 6. He’s currently transiting his home sign of Capricorn and will remain there until 2020. Saturn is an outer planet (like Uranus and Pluto) so his transits are longer and slower.  Inner planets like Mars, Venus and Mercury move faster. Their direct affect on us may not be as serious or significant.  For me, I pay attention to the outer planets more than the inner planets.  Perhaps not as exciting (because they will stay in a place for years), the shift they can present can be life altering.

Saturn is all about growing up, restriction, responsibility, life lessons. Perhaps the two biggest areas of our lives (or of ourselves) that concern responsibility are our health and our job/money. So there may be a focus for all of us in some way on these two areas. But any plans that have felt stagnant will now get a cosmic push to go forward. Put another way, you can’t blame the universe for your plans not moving ahead. Mercury is direct and now so is Saturn.

The two most affected signs by Saturn’s transit through Capricorn are Capricorn and Cancer.   It’s always important to note if your sign is the opposite of the sign directly affected, because you will feel the shift as well.  While Capricorn is going to take the most direct hit of Saturn (their very core, their sense of self, their purpose or place in the world), Cancers will feel it when it comes to issues of job and service, daily routine, health/nutrition and responsibilities.  It’s in the sixth house for Cancers.

Saturn transits a sign two to three times in a typical lifetime. Thankfully, only two or three times in a typical lifetime.  The transits can present significant shifts in our lives and massive change.  Which is necessary, but as with any kind of growth or evolution, some growing pains are involved.

And because nobody lives on an island, if we don’t experience these changes ourselves, it could be that we experience them through others.  Our family, friends, co-workers, even our neighbors.

As with all transits, flow with it.  Always remember that if one thing is constant and consistent, it’s change.  What is good, won’t stay good forever. What is bad, won’t stay bad forever.  And we need both – the good and the bad. The light and the dark.  But use this forward movement of Saturn to propel your goals and plans. A universal push forward for all of us.

Tarot Card Reading of the Week – July 22, 2018

The card in the past energy (or the energy we are leaving as we begin the week) is the Page of Pentacles reversed. Pages can  be children under the age of 10-12 or people who act like children.  Pages are also messengers.  This can be an earth sign child (Virgo, Capricorn, Taurus) or a message regarding money or finances or job or career.  It’s likely either not a good message. Or it’s about something not moving forward as you’d like.  It could also just be an irresponsible person around you somehow – perhaps at the workplace. Somebody not very grounded and stable, especially with money or their responsibilities.

The present energy is the Ace of Wands reversed. Aces start a suit and the suit of wands is about action and passion. Creative ventures.  Wands also correspond to fire sign energy – Aries, Leo and Sagittarius.  Which is interesting, because we just entered Leo season.  But this card can indicate a block or delay to the start of something new – something creative or something that you are passionate about. It doesn’t mean it can’t ever happen or won’t ever happen. Just that right now, for whatever reason, the path to start this new thing is blocked.  We have a lot of planets still retrograde right now – and Mercury is set to go retrograde this coming week as well. So astrologically speaking, it really isn’t  an ideal time to start or begin new things if you can help it.

The card in the position of the future is The Chariot upright. A major arcana card.  This is a card of moving forward and charging ahead.  Being in control of the direction of things.  As a major arcana card, it can speak to a significant area of your life or a specific endeavor that is important to you.  So what was a little stagnant or unmoving at the start of the week…seems to be taking off towards the end.  Or it could be that you just regain your footing and now know the direction you want to go in. Sometimes that’s half the battle. Once you figure out which way to go, then actually going that way is easy.

Cosmic Correspondence – Summer Solstice and Neptune Retrograde

June 18 is the day of the summer solstice (in the northern hemisphere).  The official start of summer.  A shift in seasons and a shift in energy.  It’s also the time of Gemini which is an intellectual, flirty, chatty air sign.  Light and easy energy.  Exactly what we associate with summer.

There are ways we usher in the shift in seasons – probably without even thinking about it.  We wear certain things (lighter fabrics, certain colors), our skin and hair routines may change to accommodate the high humidity and heat, we may put our indoor plants outside to enjoy the sunshine.  And the list of “spiritual” things you can do to herald this new season is endless.  You can buy a white pillar candle and light it for an hour every evening during the summer season. You can make your own summer solstice incense for the season. Or buy a specific fragrance that you only burn during the summer months.  If there are certain crystals you associate with summer, you can bring them out of hiding and display them. Or buy some jewelry (it doesn’t all have to expensive) and wear it more often in the summer.

Likewise, Neptune is going to be going retrograde on this date until November 24.  It’s forming a trine (a good aspect) with Jupiter and Mercury.  This can bring to our attention the thing (or things, plural) we are trying to escape from in our lives. Or in our heads.  Neptune is associated with the underworld, and it’s all about escapism.  Not really dealing head-on with uncomfortable dynamics or issues in our lives or in ourselves.  So those things for us could be brought to our attention.  And, as always, the fastest way out is through. So instead of trying to run from issues or escape from things….it’s always best to deal with it.  Then and only then can you really conquer it and progress forward.

This is also a good time to get in touch with your own spirituality. Or your spiritual path. This can be as simple as starting a new ritual you incorporate into your life. On a daily basis or a weekly basis or monthly. Perhaps synced up with the moon cycles.  Or it can also be you just figuring out what spirituality means for you. How that word “spirituality” resonates.

We also have Jupiter retrograde in Scorpio and Mars is soon to go retrograde at the end of June as well.  Some shifting energy ahead for all of us.  Find some time to get quiet and centered and figure out how the upcoming changes will manifest for you.
