Get rid of limiting beliefs…

If you want to move your life forward, you need to get rid of limiting beliefs. These can be things you were told as a kid, ideas you developed when you tried something and failed or just something you created in your mind.

Sometimes we make these things up to justify why we aren’t achieving goals. That way, people can’t make us feel too guilty.

But at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how we came by these limiting beliefs, it’s up to us to get rid of them. If you’re serious about moving your life forward…it’s time.

Start to say out loud, to yourself and to others and start to believe that your potential is limitless. And that you can have, do or be anything you want. It’s up to you.

Mercury Direct!

Mercury is now direct. He stationed direct in October 2-3. There is a shadow period he goes through before he fully “wakes up” and is kihing forward in earnest. That phase can last 7-10 days or so.

But we are on our way. If you put off buying new tech gadgets, traveling, signing important documents or contracts…this is the cosmic green light to go ahead.

And hopefully communication is back to normal. Always still a good idea to speak your truth and ask any questions if you don’t fully understand what the other person might be saying. Or meaning.

Do you confront or avoid?

When met with a difficult situation, a challenge, a person who presents some tension…what do you do? Do you confront the situation or person head on? Or do you run? Do you avoid it?

Why? With whichever you do…why is that your way of resolution? What would it take for you to do the opposite? Maybe not all the time, but sometimes.

I tend to confront. There isn’t too much I’m afraid of or intimidated by. And I think avoiding challenge is no way to live. And often, people need to be confronted or they’ll keep doing what they’re doing thinking it’s okay. Don’t fail to confront someone for hurting you or bothering you if you keep avoiding telling them about it.

But i also think there are times when avoidance is ideal. Like the saying, if it won’t matter in 5 years…don’t give it 5 minutes of your time. So discernment is needed.

What’s your favorite hobby to do alone?

Do you have any? Do all the things you do involve and engage others? Is there something you enjoy doing alone or something that brings you happiness independent of other people?

I think everyone should have at least one thing they do and love to do alone. For me, it’s running and swimming. It’s cooking and reading.

I probably have more things I like to do alone than with people. But that’s my introverted nature.

Try to develop something you do alone that you love. That brings you happiness and joy. That you don’t have to depend on other people for.

Things I switch out in the fall…

October makes a time of the year when I make some changes. They’re usually the same changes…they’re seasonal. But even if you live somewhere that doesn’t have traditional seasons, you can still make seasonal changes. Here’s a list of some of mine…

-heavier moisturizers

-deeper, more intense shampoo and conditioner

-I locate it humidifier and start using it at night

-I start drinking more chai tea instead of my usual green tea with mint

-start using my slow cooker more

-incorporate potatoes in my cooking

Pumpkin spice?

I’m not a big pumpkin fan. I like looking at them. I like the little gourds that look like pumpkins. My dog really likes fresh pumpkin with his breakfast. But the pumpkin spice trend..not so much.

There are other spices you can start incorporating in your diet now that the weather is shifting.

Cinnamon. It can be stirred into coffee or tea. Sprinkled on yogurt. Added to protein smoothies. I sprinkle it on peanut butter when I have a peanut butter sandwich.

Cloves. A little stronger than cinnamon. But can also be used in the same way. Can be added to cookie batter, too.

Nutmeg. Use it in baking if you bake.

There’s something about these spices that says “fall.” They smell like cooling temperatures and sweaters. And crunchy leaves. No need for pumpkin at all!

What’s bothering you?

Right now, in this moment, what’s bothering you? About your job or house. Your relationship. Your body, yourself. What’s bothering you.

Did you come up with at least one thing?

Now what are you going to do about it? Are you going to just wait and hope it goes away? Is it something you can take steps to change? Can you consult with someone and get advice?

Don’t live life passively. If something is bothering you, take steps to fix it. To change it. Or to change your perspective on it. Life is too short to be bothered.

Goal of the year?

We’re about to go into October. Which means there’s 3 months left in this calendar year. Did you accomplish what you set out to accomplish this year? Are you close? Is it something you can get done in three months?

Why didn’t you accomplish it? Sometimes it’s outside forces that get in the way. Covid interrupted a lot of people’s goals and plans for a couple of years. But if it was you…why haven’t you accomplished it? Did you just get lazy and unmotivated? Did “life get in the way?” Did you forget about that goal or dream? Was it money or time?

Is it something you can set for yourself for next year? Why not?

Setting goals and intentions is meaningless if you don’t put in the time, effort, energy they require. Don’t just come up with things to tell people you have set intentions for this year. Setting them is the first step. But you need a plan. And then you need a lot of discipline.

If you want to know your purpose, look to your childhood…

What did you want to do or be when you were younger? This is often what we are meant to be. What we are supposed to do. And even if it’s not what we’re meant to pursue in terms of career, it shows us what we’re interested in. And that can lend itself to hobbies and life long interests.

Most of the time, the things you were interested in as a child…linger as you grow into an adult. We just talk ourselves out of those things. Or we let other people tell us we’re dreaming, it will never happen for us, on and on.

So you might be too old to be a baseball player…but can you coach kids? Can you blog about it? Maybe you can’t be an astronaut…but can you learn more about it? Just because learning about it fascinates you?

It’s never too late and we are never too old. We just offer that up as an excuse. If something interests you, go for it. Learn more about it. The world needs that passion.
